Our FAQtory
Want to know how we go from 1 quirky prototype to a fully controlled mass production? Ask us your questions!
Are you using scalar plotters for cutting paper?
Are you using scalar plotters for cutting paper?
We use scalar plotters for prototyping: they're fast and simple to set up. But when it comes to production, we move onto CO2 laser machines. They are much more precise and able to deliver the intricate cuts you see on Creator One.
How much time does it take to produce 1 set?
How much time does it take to produce 1 set?
32 minutes. It's the time to produce the elements of a Creator One set. Compared to other typical paper products using more classical production techniques, it's 10x the time. Hopefully we don't make it 10x the price!
How do you pre-assemble the DIY elements?
How do you pre-assemble the DIY elements?
Our peel-and-tape elements come to the production line as A3 sheets, already taped together on one side. The laser machine cuts them out one by one. We then pack each order individually to ensure you receive exactly the set and the accessories you wanted.
Are you using sustainable materials?
Are you using sustainable materials?
Yes. Creator One is entirely made of paper and cardboard materials, all FSC certified - either FSC 100% or FSC mix. We take great responsibility in making a product sustainable by design in the early stages of development, in a proactive rather than a reactive manner.
What about carbon footprint?
What about carbon footprint?
We don't have the expertise in-house yet to run complete lifecycle analyses. We do however spend a great deal of effort monitoring and optimising our production processes to reduce energy and material waste, supply chain and planning to consolidate orders whenever we can, and imposing strict requirements to our suppliers when they have to outsource an activity to other partners.
