I’ve spoken to many creators who are rightfully protective of their work. They’ve seen agencies take a spark and leave the artist behind. At FOLDORI, that goes against everything I stand for as a sidekick. My loyalty isn't just to the brand; it’s to the source of the story: you.
To the entrepreneurs and dreamers: we aren't looking for "content". We are looking for creative partners. Here's how we create together.
1. The Intellectual Property (IP) guarantee
To avoid the "IP-stealing agency" vibe, we treat your concepts with the same respect we give our Italian paper. During the onboarding journey your IP is sovereign: your ideas remain yours until we get hands on once a formal agreement is signed.
Here's the Samwise Promise: I am your coordinator. If the Studio can't find a way to translate your vision into our FOLDORI-type architecture, we tell you clearly and quickly, so you can take your idea elsewhere. No fluff, no black holes, no IP-squatting.
2. A professional onboarding
How do you join our ranks? It’s a purposeful, three-step handshake:
- Open Door signup: apply by entering a few information about your concept so that we can give it the attention it deserves. Pro tip: make sure to frame it in a way that fits our brand universe.
- Simple IP non-disclosure agreement (NDA): if you and your concept are selected based on your Open Door signup, we'll send you a NDA to protect your concept before any discussions happen between you and anyone at FOLDORI, including me. If you don't receive anything after 2 weeks, it means we haven't validated your application. You can try again as many times as you want. We go through every application; and reply whenever we can.
- Fellowship Discovery: once you signed I’ll set up a personal chat via WhatsApp. We’ll discuss not just your art specialty, but your vision, execution, and current maturity of your concept.
The onboarding typically takes 2 days, from the moment we send you a NDA.
3. Maturing your concept
After that initial temperature-taking chat, if our teams have decided to go further with your concept, we'll work with you to mature it so it can become a true part of the FOLDORI world. To respect our creative partners' core expertise, we designed standalone tracks for each key concept types. Each track lists key deliverables expected to pass the Handover phase.
- Fellowship Maturity: we work together to ensure a smooth and on-brand transition from your original idea to a FOLDORI-ready concept. This step typically takes 2-4 weeks. We're fast, without rushing the important milestones.
- Contract signature: before handing over your mature concept to our teams, I will send you a full legal contract beyond the simple IP NDA agreement, to officialise the co-creation partnership. This notably includes royalty conditions, IP ownership, and NDA terms. You will have access to the contract template already at the start of the Fellowship Maturity phase, we only expect you to sign it before officially send your final designs to us.
- Handover phase: taking your deliverables as a baseline, Q, Mary and the teams will translate your vision into a complete FOLDORI product. Consider it a big congrats on your co-creation!
- Preview feedback: once we're close to finishing the FOLDORI design, we'll share a preview before any public launch so that you still have time to make any comments you'd like. We can't promise we'll address them all, but we will do our best to make you and your creation proud!
4. Royalty structure
Our partners receive a royalty fee on every set sold. When your concept becomes a consumer product, you share in that success directly. No hidden costs.
We don't offer 50% like typical "get rich quick" schemes. Each concept track has its own royalty structure ranging from 0.25% to 4% of net sales. Some concept tracks include legacy bonuses and one-off bonuses.
At the FOLDORI Studio, we offer a tiered approach:
- Up to 4% standard royalty ranging for concepts that become a featured FOLDORI set. If your concept covers multiple tracks, standard royalty is cumulative up to a total of 6%.
- A bonus if the original concept is (re)used in future cross-over sets or any kind of for-sale content (e.g., if your hero meets Noelani in a future edition). Legacy bonuses are 0.1%, and one-off bonuses are 1000€ checks. Check out each concept track's specifications for more details.
